Today, Head & Shoulders took its partnership with ‘mane’ man Pittsburgh Steeler’s Troy Polamalu to the next level by immortalizing him in wax during the reveal of his life-sized figure, dubbed “Legendaryous Troy,” at the famous Madame Tussauds in NYC.
This latest nod to Troy’s epic hair follows a succession of hair rising recognition, including a one million dollar hair insurance policy taken out by Head & Shoulders’ on Troy’s hair during the 2010 NFL season. In addition, Troy’s hair has also been awarded a Guinness World Record.
Legendaryous Troy, who’s iconic ‘do required twice the amount of hair of any other wax figure ever in the history of the famed attraction, will begin a three-month residency at the museum that will culminate in January. The figure will then begin a road trip to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, during which Troy will share news on his experiences and whereabouts via the Head & Shoulders for Men Facebook page and on Twitter at the brand’s @HSforMen handle.
National sports media jumped at the opportunity to speak with Troy at the reveal, including “Mike & Mike,” “The Herd,” “ESPN First Take” and “The Dan Patrick Show,” as well as Allure.com, just to name a few.
